At Arawi for the Andes, we are dedicated to empowering a remarkable community of women artisans in Chinchero, Cusco. For years, these talented women have been striving to build a textile center, called Pumaq Wasin, where they can teach the ancestral Incan methods of dyeing and weaving, keeping their rich culture alive. However, without government support and limited financial resources, their dream remains just out of reach.
With your help, we can turn this vision into reality and preserve a priceless cultural heritage—join us in making a lasting impact!
Donation receipts will be provided and sent to each donor.
Our Three-Phase Path to Empowerment
Phase 1: Planning and Design
In Phase 1, we will collaborate with architects and engineers to meticulously plan the textile center. This includes identifying all necessary facilities such as a boutique, mini restaurant, atelier, and guest rooms to create a vibrant hub for cultural exchange. Your contribution will directly fund this crucial planning stage, laying the foundation for a project that will transform lives. Be a part of building this dream from the ground up!
Estimated Expenditures: USD 15,000
Completion: 25%
Phase 2: Construction of the Textile Center
Phase 2 brings the vision to life as we commence construction with experienced contractors. This is when blueprints turn into a tangible center where artisans can teach, work, and share their heritage. By contributing to this phase, you are helping to erect a cornerstone of cultural preservation and economic opportunity. Let's build a future together—brick by brick!
Estimated Expenditures: to be determined

Phase 3: Business Training and Sustainable Growth
The final phase focuses on equipping the artisans with the skills to run a successful, official business. We will provide training in social media management, accounting, payroll, and strategies for business growth, along with continuous education and courses. Your support here ensures the textile center doesn't just open its doors but thrives for generations to come. Empower these women to take control of their future—your help makes all the difference!
